Professional Skincare Programme Developed by Medical Skin Specialists

Dermaclear is an advanced, highly effective professional skincare range that works with the natural processes of your skin to combat the effects of sun damage, pollutants, moisture loss and ageing.

Founded in 1991, Dermaclear has been researched and developed by an accredited medical team of Australian and New Zealand plastic surgeons. With continued clinical assessment, Dermaclear provides breakthrough results for skincare management.

The Dermaclear programme provides cleansing, dermabrading, moisture binding, nourishing and re-strengthening properties to enhance the surface of your skin and to penetrate through deep layers to correct, restore and maintain texture, clarity and tone.

Dermaclear contains only the highest quality active ingredients to repair and renew damaged skin. Alpha-hydroxy-acids help to displace aged and damaged skin cells. Elastin peptides rebuild the elastin and collagen properties to strengthen, tighten and revitalise your skin. And generous amounts of vitamin E offer superior healing and nourishment where it’s needed most.

Dermaclear is all-natural, simple to use, and works effectively to give you clean, beautiful skin. Click here for the full range of products, special offers, and order form.

Skin Peels

Individuals with enlarged pores, wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, or uneven skin pigmentation as a result of excessive sun exposure may be interested in how our skin peels can help them achieve smoother, more youthful-looking skin.

At the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery, we offer several different skin peels, including green peels and Jesna peels, as well as AHA chemical peels. Such peels can be customised to meet your particular needs for the best possible results. Whether you want to focus on rejuvenating the top layers of skin and balancing pigmentation, or diminishing wrinkles from the deeper layers of skin, we have several options available.

Microdermabrasion is a skin rejuvenation treatment particularly beneficial to those whose skin has suffered due to the effects of the sun and aging. Microdermabrasion is designed to eliminate facial lines and spots such as acne while increasing the production of skin cells and collagen to give you clear, smooth, beautiful skin.

The procedure is performed using a hand piece that emits crystals onto the skin’s surface. Treatment takes between 30 minutes and an hour. For best results, you may need between five and twelve treatments, spaced between two and three weeks apart.

There are virtually no side effects from microdermabrasion, and patients can resume normal activities immediately following treatment. To learn more, contact the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment is available at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery to reduce or remove skin blemishes, including birth marks, spider veins, pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, age spots, sunspots, and freckles, as well as unwanted hair.

IPL is a safe, effective, and virtually painless procedure performed by using an intense pulsed light device to reduce the melanin, or dark pigment, in your skin and even out the skin tone. When used to permanently reduce unwanted or excess hair, the light energy produced by the IPL device is absorbed into the hair follicles. As high levels of heat penetrate the follicles, it disables the hair structures and prevents the hair from growing back. However, since the hair grows in cycles, it may be necessary to undergo multiple treatments for the best possible results.

If you are interested in IPL, contact the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery today for more information.

Laser Hair Removal

You no longer have to bother with painful waxes and shaving equipment; instead, try laser hair removal. A non-invasive procedure for permanent hair reduction, laser hair removal works to remove unwanted hair by converting the light energy of a special laser into heat. As the heat enters the skin, it is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle. Once the temperature gets high enough in the hair follicle during its active phase, it disables the hair structures, preventing the unwanted hair from growing back.

Since hair grows in different cycles, it may be necessary to have this procedure performed multiple times for the best possible results. Patients who have had laser hair removal report that fewer hairs grow back after treatment, and those that do regrow are finer and lighter in color.

Micro pigmentation (cosmetic tattoo)

Micro pigmentation, also known as cosmetic tattoo, is a customised procedure used to permanently enhance facial features such as the eyes and lips by acting as permanent make-up. Micro pigmentation can also be used to disguise scars, birth marks, burns, vitiligo, alopecia, and halo nevi, or to repigment the areola and nipple after breast surgery.

The micro pigmentation procedure lasts about 30 to 40 minutes and is similar to the tattooing process. Needles are used to insert dye into the skin, leaving behind permanent pigmentation.

To learn more about micro pigmentation, contact the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery.
